The information on the list includes name, phone #, age, and any special training (ex. | The Runnells Park and Recreation Board is seeking an interested person to fill one vacant seat on the Park Board (city residency not required). The Park Board consists of five members, with a minimum of three residents from the City of Runnells and a liaison from the City Council. This Board sets rules, recommends improvements and generally oversees all aspects of our beautiful City Park. We meet once a month with meetings lasting about one hour. If you have an interest in contributing a small amount of your time to the improvement and maintenance of the Runnells Area Park, please contact Runnells City Hall at 966-2042 or anyone listed below. | We are now taking applications to fill one vacant board member position. The Library Board consists of five members, three residents within city limits and two residing in the surrounding Runnells community. The current opening is for a resident within city limits. We meet once a month on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. The library meetings last about an hour and a half. Aside from attending the monthly meeting, trustees help with organizing the library programming, summer library, policies, participate in the Runnells Razzle Dazzle Day celebration, and more. | Runnells Summer Library Reading Program ~ June 10th to July 8th MAKE A SPLASH! READ Kick Off: June 10th WOW (Wonder of Water) Finale: July 8th Carnival/Reading Goal Prizes Awarded Thursday Mornings 9:00 am - 11:30 am Tuesday Evenings 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm Enjoy Crafts, Trivia, Games, Art, and More!! June 10th & 15th: WOW (Wonder of Water) June 17th & 22nd: An Ocean of Fun June 24th & 29th: High Seas Adventure July 1st & 6th: Splish Splash Summer July 8th: Carnival and Prize Drawing How it works: Stop in at the library to sign up and set a reading goal based on your reading level. Parents may read to their child to help them reach their reading goal. Children gain points by the amount of books they read or are read to and can use these points to get prizes from our prize cart when they stop in at the library. If the reader reaches their reading goal at the end of our Summer Library Reading Program, they can enter to win a larger prize. We have many different prizes to choose from and each child who completes their reading goal will win a prize. | New City Development! We are proud to announce that the Runnells Community Library and City of Runnells are working in a joint effort to build a new structure that will house both a full-time community library and city hall. The future Runnells Community Library/City Hall building will be located on the vacant lot across from the current Runnells Post Office and City Hall. The Runnells Community Library Board, in conjunction with the Runnells City Council and Mayor, are just beginning the important task of raising funds to assist with the cost of the building. This is an amazing opportunity for our city and a step toward a great future in Runnells! To be part of this endeavor, you can make a donation to the Runnells Community Library/City Hall Building Fund by stopping in at the Great Western Bank here in town or by simply mailing a donation. | Operation of Golf Carts on City Streets - Ordinance 11-11-08 (Yearly Permit) No person shall operate a golf cart on any public street or alley, for any reason, unless the operator possesses a City of Runnells permit. Golf carts may be operated upon the streets of the City by persons possessing a valid Iowa operator's license, and at least seventeen years of age, except as prohibited in section 22.03. For more details about the required equipment, hours of operation, and acquiring a permit, please see the complete ordinance at City Hall or call 966-2042. |
