| ** Attention ** Runnells Babysitters The Runnells Community Library has put together a list of local babysitters for parents to use when looking for a sitter. The information on the list includes name, phone #, age, and any special training (ex. Red Cross babysitting certificate) or requests (ex. potty-trained) If you would like to be added to the list please contact Tina Strom at 966-2244 or email at tina.strom@cityofrunnells.com Babysitters list is available at the Runnells Community Library. |
| Runnells Park & Recreation Board |
| The Runnells Park and Recreation Board is seeking an interested person to fill one vacant seat on the Park Board (city residency not required). The Park Board consists of five members, with a minimum of three residents from the City of Runnells and a liaison from the City Council. This Board sets rules, recommends improvements and generally oversees all aspects of our beautiful City Park. We meet once a month with meetings lasting about one hour. If you have an interest in contributing a small amount of your time to the improvement and maintenance of the Runnells Area Park, please contact Runnells City Hall at 966-2042 or anyone listed below. | Congratulations Runnells Elementary! The United States Department of Education has designated Runnells Elementary as a 2008 No Child Left Behind Blue Ribbon School This prestigious award was given to honor the school's superior student academics and achieving top ten percent results on Iowa state tests. Runnells Elementary is one of only five schools in Iowa to earn this national recognition. |

| We are now taking applications to fill one vacant board member position. The Library Board consists of five members, three residents within city limits and two residing in the surrounding Runnells community. The current opening is for a resident within city limits. We meet once a month on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. The library meetings last about an hour and a half. Aside from attending the monthly meeting, trustees help with organizing the library programming, summer library, policies, participate in the Runnells Razzle Dazzle Day celebration, and more. | Razzle Dazzle Day Committee Meeting ~ Wednesday, June 10th Interested area community members who would like to help out in the planning for the next Razzle Dazzle Day celebration are encouraged to attend the next meeting on Wednesday, June 10th at 7:30 pm at the Runnells Community Center Everyone's help is appreciated and welcome! This year's celebration is scheduled for September 19th |

| Summer Library Reading Program Just stop in at the library and we'll help you get signed up. You select a reading goal that you would like to complete by the end of summer library on July 6th. Then you check out some books and start reading. The more you read the more prizes you can earn. The library will have other things for you to do too. We'll have centers set up that add to the fun. There will be an art table, a craft table, a game table, and a trivia table available each week with new things to do. Also, keep an eye out for special programs that will be coming to the library this summer, like the zoo on June 16th! Our Finale will be on July 6th: Wet & Wild Water Adventure. Wear a swimsuit and get ready to get wet! During the finale we will be having a special show to celebrate all the fun we've had during this year's summer reading program. You will also put your name in an envelope for our BIG PRIZE DRAWING! We hope to see you all at the library!
