Runnells Park & Rec and RAPCO Receive Grants From Prairie Meadows
Runnells Park & Recreation Board Receives $10,000.00 Grant Award
from Prairie Meadows
Sherry Henry, City Council liaison to the Park Board, worked with board members Mike Danley, Jennifer Lessard, Tracy
Gordon, and Skip Dunbar to draft the grant application.

The $10,000.00 will go towards new parking areas with the addition of handicapped parking spaces, redirection of vehicle
traffic for the protection of children at play, and the addition of park entrance gates to enhance security and reduce
vandalism.  The Park Board is also working closely with the Runnells Little League on the construction of a new
permanent restroom building.

RAPCO (Runnells Area Park Corporation) Receives $10,000.00 Grant Award
from Prairie Meadows
Sherry Henry, with assistance from Linda Northway, both RAPCO board members, drafted the grant application last
August in the hopes of getting dollars for necessary repairs and renovations to the Runnells Community Center, which
after 20 years of everyday use, is needing a facelift.

The $10,000.00 will go towards replacing eve troughs and downspouts on the building, re-surfacing the entire square
footage of flooring in the center, replacing old ceiling tiles with new acoustic friendly tiles, and helping with heating/cooling
updates.
